What is you favorite Operating System or go to choice OS for your own Dedicated Server?

I was using a shared hosting before. And ended up having some problems with the host since shared hosting doesn't allow much of the freedom.

So, I migrated to Racknerd. Frankly speaking I moved to them and not to any other vps provider is because of their prices. They were providing some good deal with my requirements (2 core, 4GB ram for starters).

Many even told me why I moved to them since it was not a big name to them. But the surprise came to me when I started using them. They have one of the best systems if not the best system. I only faced one technical problem (apache not loading) which was resolved right away. And other problems which were basically my account related were also resolved in very timely and efficient manner.

I would definitely recommend it for the newbies who are staring their journey in the VPS world.

Although, I will appreciate if they display a little less graphics on their own site. I guess you people can say that's a no thumbs up from me.

I am currently using Intel xeon 2000 series. It's a bit old. And also giving me trouble with Virtualization.

I am basically looking for speed.

I have launched my second eCommerce site but it isn't ready yet.

I also have choose a suitable DS for hosting. But I am confused whether should I go for the managed one or just buy the bare metal one.

The current site is being managed by some of my employees but they are not willing to do the same for the second one.

However, I do have a dedicated team just for IT, webdesign etc.

I am currently using Acronis. And it's pretty good.

What are you guys using? Many here still use the cPanel system, am I not right here?

I have been wanting to try out their Reseller Hosting. BTW I am totally newbie in hosting. It looks like they are providing fully managed ones so I am interested even more.

Is it a good idea to start with them in my journey of Reseller hosting? What do you guys think?

I have been searching this for a while now.

Which will be the best way to disable mod_security. It seems that one of custom plugins are creating some problems in the user's end.

Any suggestions? And also my host isn't providing any option through cPanel.
