In Malaysia not going for International brands is not a wise decision. It is not a big country and moreover its doesn't have much legit companies of hosting.

Many local providers actually sell VPS or even shared resources under the name of dedicated server. Always ask for proof that it's a true bare-metal dedicated server (full hardware control, no virtualization layer).
Also, "unmetered traffic" often comes with a hidden fair usage policy or soft limits. Read the TOS carefully before purchasing.
