Currently MySQL is very much heavy on our Amazon server. Creating drag. So, I want to try something new.

I thought they were an extension of MySQL itself. Will have to check out Percona's licensing alright.
And if you want a lightweight version then why don't just try MariaDB? They are very easy to install and handle. And moreover in many cases they even best good old Mysql.

Why do you wanna go with so much rare choice? Or, do you have any specific requirements?

As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, DirectAdmin does not have native support for Percona Server. DirectAdmin primarily focuses on providing a web hosting control panel and does not have specific integrations for alternative MySQL server distributions like Percona.
However, it may still be possible to manually install and configure Percona Server on a server managed by DirectAdmin. This would require advanced technical knowledge and expertise in server administration, as it involves manual installation, configuration, and potential modifications to the DirectAdmin setup.
If you're considering using Percona Server with DirectAdmin, I recommend reaching out to the DirectAdmin support team or consulting with a server administrator who can provide guidance on the feasibility and steps required to integrate Percona Server into a DirectAdmin-managed environment.
