Google is simply going to ignore bad links

Recently John Mueller of Google told this on twitter.

I think its a lie.

Bad and unnatural links which are acquired suspiciously from irrelevant sources are always going to hurt your site.

These are too time consuming algorithms and they definitely cannot work globally. Maximum - local things.
