Promoting a new product on the stage of old one

How do you guys think about promoting a new product on the stage of a old one. Suppose, we are talking about this niche. We have launched a keyword research tool which is a huge success and now we are about to launch a link Management tool. Publishing it in the mother site is always good but what if we offer a trial version of the link tool for who have purchased the keyword tool? What do you guys think?
