What is a Layer 7 attack, can anybody explain it to me?

targets the top layer of the OSI model where user-facing software, HTTP requests (like GET and POST), and APIs operate. Instead of flooding network pipes with brute-force volume like Layer 3/4 attacks, these stealthy attacks mimic real user traffic to exhaust server CPU, memory, or database resources.
