Directory Submission
#1
Directory submission means adding your website to online directories under a relevant category. These directories list websites based on niche, making it easier for search engines and users to find your site.

How Directory Submission Helps in Link Building
  1. Easy Backlinks
You can quickly get backlinks without complex outreach.
  2. Improves Website Visibility
Your website appears in multiple directories, increasing exposure.
  3. Boosts SEO Ranking
Quality directory links can help improve your domain authority.
  4. Beginner-Friendly
No technical skills required — perfect for beginners.
  5. Faster Indexing
Search engines can discover your site faster.

Like This there are many sites available for link building.
Note: Main trick in directory submission: Always check domain authority using Ahrefs Backlink Checker, and only submit your site to directories with DA 50+, because submitting to low-DA sites can harm your website’s authority — I personally build backlinks for my site using this method.

In many cases, mass directory submissions create a low-quality link profile and can dilute overall authority rather than strengthen it.
For sustainable SEO results, I’d prioritize:
  • Local and niche-specific directories (especially for local SEO)
  • Industry associations and structured citations
  • Digital PR and linkable assets
  • Partnerships and contextual backlinks
Directories can still play a small supplementary role, but they shouldn’t be the foundation of a modern link-building strategy.
More importantly, measure impact instead of assuming value. I usually track page-level ranking movement after link acquisition using https://rankar.ai/ i to see whether specific URLs or keyword clusters actually improve. In many cases, bulk directories show little to no measurable lift.
Quality and relevance consistently outperform volume.
