No, it has nothing to do with SEO unless it has some good links already in its link profile.

I couldn't agree more. Domain age has nothing to do with site rankings.

Yes domain age helps to build trust of your domain in search engines. The older the domain the more trust it can have in search engines depending on its archive history.
