How do I grow my Twitter account?

Anyone here grown Twitter accounts from scratch on their own? What actually worked for you? I need to build up a couple of accounts to run ad campaigns on them down the line, but it's going nowhere fast. Posts are getting zero likes and I've barely scraped together a few dozen followers in a month. On other networks it always felt way quicker and easier to get traction.

Twitter's just a weird one, it's not like showing up and posting gets you anything on its own. Most people hit the same wall for weeks and can't figure out what's going wrong. The accounts that actually start moving are usually deep in the comment sections under bigger names in the niche, not just sitting there waiting to be found. That back-and-forth in replies is what pulls in people who'll actually stick around.
