If the ranking of the website is dropping rapidly and business is not getting any leads through web then its high time to focus on SEO.

Well it certainly depends on the type of business you are into. If you own an online store and your conversions are dropping then I will say rather than focusing on SEO, focus on PPC or other similar ad campaigns.

But that's just not the case if its a blog. In which if your competitors are outranking you then they are probably gaining good links than you. So, should focus on earning good backlinks.
