See here is the thing. If enough forum urls are present then they form a separate SERP. If not then they are shown in the main one although they are shown in the main SERP anyway just not in the front page.

It is decided by Google which will be what. You can aspire to be the different SERP but if G think otherwise then you will have to rank on the main SERP.

People will ask for parameter in this kind of SERP. Which again will be decided by Google and also which urls qualifies in them. So, it is a big mess as of now you can imagine.

I can check the changes but can't confirm since this time of the year traffic already remains low.
