Content Building : Properties of an Ideal Content Page
Posted by: frank - 08-27-2015, 06:56 AM - Forum: Content Marketing - Replies (3)

For good search engine optimization of a website it is very important to build a rich content. But often it is seen that webmasters builds rich content but does not optimize their page which results in low traffic or sudden drop of traffic.

A friend of mine who is also a hobby-blogger, he always keeps me saying that he is writing content for a too long time but not getting considerable amount of traffic. He requested me to have look in his site, when I looked down to his site I was quiet surprised to see that his content is good but his webpages are not quite well optimized. Then when I optimized some of his webpages as he requested me to do so, the traffic rise in considerable amount.

As this is a problem for all webmasters that they build content and does not know how to optimize their pages, or simply does not do so as they thinks it to be unimportant. Today, I am writing about the “Properties of an Ideal Content Page” which a website owner must keep in mind while building content :

- While, writing any post you should need focus in one topic or one product only. Do not merge several topics in one post. This may confuse the visitor or rather irritate the visitor.
- Be hyper-relevant to your selected topic. Build the content which is actually about the topic. Do not mention off-shore terms.
- Include the subject in your heading / title of your webpage.
- Include the subject in your webpage url.
- Include the subject in the meta-description of your webpage.
- Try to specify the subject several times in your webpage content.
- If your webpage contain any images then provide your subject in the alt text.
- Link back to your category and sub-category pages of your website.
- Provide a link which links back to your homepage of your website. This may be the logo of your site.
- And, the last but not the least always try to build unique content for your site.

Why SEO is important same as Advertising ??
Posted by: brian - 08-26-2015, 04:42 AM - Forum: Marketing Forum - Replies (11)

Recently, i had came up across some questions that “Why SEO is important same as advertising??”. Some people asks that paid advertising such as outbound marketing, running ad campaigns (through adwords, facebook etc) also needs money and SEO also needs money then ‘why anybody should invest in SEO?’ as there is no surety that one should get the proper return for investment.

Yeah, its true that both needs money to take place. But both are important.

Advertising is a general way to attract customers to your product. It is a way to show people that your product is this and that. There may be many people who doesn’t actually need your product but they buy it from you as because of your outstanding ad campaign. Now here is a fact that there is a possibility that the users who are coming to your site may not buy your product, I mean why they will buy it if they don’t need it. They were just attracted to your ad and came to visit your page to know what it is.

Here is the basic difference between SEO and advertising, SEO will make your page rank in the SERP’s which will bring traffic to you. And this traffic will be the users who really want your product or the info from your webpage. Yeah, obviously here will also be a bunch of bouncing users but they will be much less in comparison to the percentage of bouncing users in the case of paid advertising.

Moreover, SEO will increase the brand value of your product in the mind of the users as they continuously see your page over the SERP’s, this will in turn increase your conversion rate. And also though SEO is an ongoing process but still it will last longer against advertising in the case of driving traffic. Users flow to your site may suddenly stop if you stop the advertising campaign but SEO can bring traffic for a long time if it is updated and maintained regularly.

  Advanced Guest Blogger Guidelines
Posted by: Paul - 08-26-2015, 04:28 AM - Forum: Blog Management & Promotion - Replies (2)

In the past few years Google’s algorithm has changed a lot creating a deep impact over the search-results. Previously, any kind of links values a lot for the search engines but now its not. Only good links or commonly known as the quality links will only stand alone in this run. Guest blogging is the most reliable and efficient way to build links and the search engines also likes it, no matter what they have done to their algorithms. For this reason, guest blogging have considerably increased over the past few years, proportionally increasing spam guest blogging also.

Terms to remember while choosing a blog to guest post :

Age of the Blog : Do not guest post in a blog whose age is less than 3 months. This is because aged domains are more reputable in the eyes of search engines.
Check the Domain Authority : Moz.com (previously seomoz.org) provides a domain authority tool that gives every domain a number which is called domain authority number (domain metrics). See how much it scores upon 100. Study the linking domains, whether they are valid or not.
Check the content : Check the content of that blog whether its is duplicated from other blogs in your niche or not. Look the content contributed from other guest bloggers in that blog are original and unique, or spammed.
Followers : Find out how many people are following the blog through social networking sites and by other means. A greater number of followers mean that the blog is trustworthy.
Check out the comments : Check the comments over the published articles. If the blog is getting a huge number of spammed comments then obviously its a bad remark in the eyes of the search engines.
Author’s reputation : Blog author’s background and reputation are very important. See how reputable is that author as a blogger all over the internet. Check out how many people are talking about the author and also try to find out their reviews.
Post Frequency : How frequently is that blog been updated and how frequently is new post published in that blog. If the blog is a reputable one but had not published any post in months then it is a ‘dead’ blog.
Blog Environmentt : Blog environment is also an important factor that one guest blogger should remember while writing a guest post for it. This includes the blog design which must be user-friendly, time of loading of the blog, easy to navigate or not, a generalized sitemap is present or not, linking between the different pages of the blog etc.
Creating a good content is the most important factor for any kind of post whether it is for your own blog or in the case of a guest blog. Guest blogging content creation is same as creating normal blog content, only a few extra things you have to keep in mind while doing it.

Terms to remember while creating content for your guest post
:

Build Content according to the audience
: As, you are guest blogging so obviously the blog will be of your niche or related niche. Just go through the blog, see which topics in your niche the blog is covering, is the visitors of that blog getting what they need ? This can be known by viewing the comments on the different articles. Some visitors will always counter ask their queries to the author through comments, is the author able to answer those queries successfully ? Follow these points and try to build your content keeping in mind what the blog audience seek.
Create a good visual impression for your post : The first visual impression of your post to a visitor is very important , the engagement of the visitor to your post depends on this basically. Add info-graphs to your post to describe it in a brief way, for explaining examples of something (any term related to your guest post topic ) in your post try to use images, videos & graphs, use headings and sub-headings to describe your topic.
Be good in language : Your language in the guest post is a crucial factor to look after. Good language is not only important for your readers but also important for the guest blog owner, so your guest post can easily get accepted. Use simple and lucid language so everybody reading your article can understand what you are trying to say. Don’t make any grammatical mistakes or mistakes in vocabulary, if needed check your article twice.
Make it a ‘Perfect Meal’ for your readers : If you are guest blogging then don’t use the word ‘later’. Put everything about your guest post topic in one article only. Be straight forward to your point don’t use irrelevant words to increase your word count. Always feel free to express your opinion. Provide a detailed and complete information about the topic, this will force the readers to think ‘wow’ this author is doing great, creating a well author’s reputation.
Don’t make it boring : As you are targeting the audiences of the guest blog so don’t make your article boring to the readers. Make your article interesting, this can be done in many ways. For example, you can narrate your experience with the topic (the guest post topic about which you are writing), your problems with the topic and how you had overcome them etc.
Create a conclusion : You are writing in another person’s blog to target the guest blog’s audience, so they can follow you or your blog. Creating a conclusion will boost up your ‘say’ about the topic . Write a simple your point review about the entire topic in short and also if you can provide some suggestions about it to the readers, it will be great. Always write the conclusion in another paragraph.
Create a author’s bio : Create a good author’s bio, readers must know who you are. Don’t make it too large just write about you, your present work field & the company or work group you are presently associated with.

Note : Do not put many links in your post which will be linking to your site. Put one link in the post (if you can) and another in the author’s bio section. I personally recommend to put only two links in the entire guest post.

Perform a Keyword Research using Market Samurai
Posted by: Paul - 08-22-2015, 04:22 AM - Forum: Keywords - Replies (6)

Market Samurai is a Keyword Analysis Tool that uses Google Adwords Keyword Tool to show the results. I highly recommend to use Market Samurai because its easy to use and also show the results in a manner which are quite handy not only in respect of selecting a keyword for your domain name/heading but also in case of keywords that are used in regular day-to-day posts. There are both free and paid versions available of it. If you want then you can buy the paid version but i am here using the free version as an example to explain.
Once you have downloaded and installed the Market Samurai, you have to create a new project in order to research for a particular phrase or single word keyword. After creation of the project you can generate keywords list by clicking on the ‘Generate Keywords’ button.

Note : Always remember to provide your Google Adwords Keyword Tool’s email address as Market Samurai uses it to generate results.

Clicking on the ‘Generate Keywords’ button will result Market samurai to crawl to your Google Adwords account in order to get the information and then Market Samurai will show you the results. This may take a while, it depends upon your internet connection speed. Once Market Samurai have generated the results will show you the probable list of keywords.

Note : In the screen on the left side you will see that the add keywords panel from where you can add words (keywords) to searched item. And, also there is panel of Positive and Negative Keywords where you can add or remove any wanted or unwanted words from your search term to see the exact list of your desired keywords as you wanted them. This positive and negative keywords panel are same as the Include and Exclude Term panel of Google Adwords Keyword Tool.

After getting you desired type of list of Keywords you will have to hit the ‘Keyword Analysis’ button. Once again Market Samurai will crawl to your Google Adwords Keyword Tool account and show you the results. Market Samurai will now shows the list of keywords which can be studied in a detailed manner. Market Samurai gives you mainly five options where by putting your desired values you can analyze each keyword as you wanted. The options are :

Organic :

Total Searches – This value represents the average of total number of daily visitors searches about the respective keyword.
SEO Traffic (SEOT) – This represents the total number of daily clicks that a ranked #1 site for the respective keyword can get.
Phrase to Broad – This represents the percentage of phrase match out of broad match for the particular keyword. Note - Suppose, you are researching about the keyword ‘best watches’ then this will be the phrase match and the resultant webpage contains the line ‘the best watches in the country’ then it will be the broad match.
Trends – This graph shows the total monthly traffic for the respective keyword. It shows the result of last 12 months duration.

Adwords :

Adwords Traffic (AWT) – The total daily traffic that a Google Advertiser might (if he/she places ad) expect to get from a #1 ranked site for the particular keyword.
Adwords CTR (AWCTR) – The percentage of traffic that a Google Advertiser might get from #1 ranked site out of the total traffic for that respective keyword.
Adwords CPC (AWCPC) – This number represents how much cost a website owner expect to get from an advertiser for one click if his/her website is ranked #1 in Google.

Competition :

SEO Comp (SEOC) – The total number of webpages that mention the keyword in phrase all over the internet.
Title Comp (SEOTC) – The total number of webpages that mention the particular keyword in phrase in their titles.
URL Comp (SEOUC) – This represents the total number of webpages that mention the particular keyword in phrase in their respective urls.
Title/ Comp (SEOTCR) – This is the ratio of the total number of webpages that mention the keyword to the total number of webpages that mention the keyword in their titles.
Adwords Comp (AWC) – This is the total number of advertisers who are bidding for the keyword and how this keyword is performing in respect to other related keywords.

Majestic Competition :

Majestic Title Comp (MSEOTC) – This is the number of webpages present in the Majestic Index that mention the keyword in phrase in their respective titles.
Majestic URL Comp (MSEOUC) – This is the number of webpages present in the Majestic Index that mention the particular keyword in their respective urls.

Domain Comp (MSEODC) – This is the total number of webpages present in the Majestic Index that mention the keyword (all words of it) in their domain name of their pages.
Title & Anchor Comp (MSEOTAC) – The total number of webpages present in the Majestic Index that mention the keyword in their titles and anchor text of an external or internal link, both.

Note – All the data provided by Market Samurai will be according to Google except the SEO Comp and URL Comp will be according to Bing’s Index, and also Majestic Competition will be according to Majestic Index.

Put your desired values in each field and if you want to omit any field then simply disable it by unmakring the check box present by the side of each option. Once, you have done it then simple hit the ‘Analyze Keywords’ button and Market Samurai will show you the results after by crawling in your Google Adwords Keyword Tool. You can also change the time span from daily to monthly or weekly, just by checking the ‘Period’ drop down button.
