First getting Traffic and than Conversions. How much time does it take to happen?

I have a few videos on Youtube that I'd like to draw attention to. However, the videos are new and have few comments or likes. I think the videos will gain momentum in time. But to speed things up, should I just buy likes for the Youtube video? My theory is that when other people see how many likes there are on the video, they will want to watch and possibly click the like button too.
