Solo ads are email blasts that are bought from people who have large email lists. Its not like other form of advertisings.
You can find them at many places such as groups or communities which have marketplaces. But my suggestion will be that don't buy them in bulk. Buy them as per leads or clicks.

Say somebody has an email list. And he or she send an email to their list about your product. Now you will get back clicks from that or those emails right? So, now you will pay the list owner as per clicks (on how many clicks you get). These are called Solo ads.

A Solo Ad is an email send-out/broadcast that you BUY from solo ad vendors to promote your product or service. The Solo Ad Vendors are 'EMAIL LIST OWNERS' and they charge you PER CLICK to send traffic to your pages using their email lists (using email broadcasts).
