Re-Marketing an Old Product, how to do it?

Recently, I have found a product which is great but its a bit old and had been updated by the owners. A year back it had quite a market. Now how should remarket it?

Hold a PR and tell everybody that the product has been relaunched. Or, create an ad campaign for it will be the shortest answer.

I honestly don't know how the state of product is but I will say that before go on spending money. You should check in the audience first whether the product is still liked by them or not. Create a survey or if you have their email list then even better. Send them newsletter about the product see how they respond.
