Type of posts in Web 2.0 sites

I am bit confused right now. I was hoping to build my own web 2.0 blog network in order to support and rank my main site. Which type of article should I post in them? Should I post the review of the articles posted in the main site.

The more authority the web 2.0 blogs will have the more will they pass link juice to your main site. So, create useful articles publishing only reviews will only diminish the authority of the web 2.0 sites.

The reason of building 2.0 sites are that the links from them should look like quality backlinks to the search engines. So, if you don't post quality articles which can't get ranked or atleast indexed by the search engines then what is the profit in it? It is a waste of time and effort.
