What are broken backlinks and is it harmful to any website? My website links are decrease and traffic also decrease. Is that factor where my website ranked is decreasing?

Broken backlinks are those links which have got error in their urls or the pages has just gone. So, anyone coming from that link will not find the concerned page. If you have too many broken links and they are increasing rapidly then your rankings will decrease. As backlinks are the one which are primarily responsible for rankings.
