Well, in theory, meta descriptions do not affect SEO. This is an official statement from Google, released in 2009. However, since meta descriptions show in the search engine results, they can affect CTRs (click through rates), which are linked to SEO & rankings.

If you've recently updated your description, Google might not have crawled the page, or updated their index with your content content. It can take time for Google to process the changes you made, depending on how frequently your website is crawled.

Top 3 reasons according to Google why Google rewrites its meta description
1) The first reason is poor use of a meta description by not using it to summarize the web page.
2) The second reason is to more accurately match the search query with the web page when the content is missing part of the search query.
3) The third reason is because Google is trying to match the search query with the content but the match isn’t in the meta description.
I generally follow kuware.com for Marketing related info. Hope this helps.

The search engines will not display title tags or meta descriptions in a variety of conditions. supplied a title or meta description that is either too short or too long. The title or meta description chosen does not accurately reflect the content of the website.

So, Google added or change a meta description of a website.

So I will re-edit my meta description then check it will or not.

Google may change the meta description for your website in their search results based on various factors, such as the user's search query, relevance, and the content of the page. While it's not possible to prevent Google from changing your meta description, there are a few things you can do to influence the chances of your meta description being used:
Write a clear and concise meta description that accurately reflects the content of the page. This will increase the chances of Google using it as the meta description.
Use keywords in your meta description that are relevant to the page and the user's search query. This will make it more likely that Google will use your meta description in the search results.
Avoid using duplicate meta descriptions across multiple pages on your website. This can confuse Google and decrease the chances of your meta description being used.
Keep your meta description within the recommended length of 155-160 characters. If your meta description is too long, Google may truncate it in the search results.
Regularly update your website with fresh and relevant content. This can increase the chances of Google using your meta description in the search results and also improve your overall search rankings.
In summary, while Google may change your meta description, you can increase the chances of your meta description being used by following best practices for writing clear, concise, and relevant meta descriptions that accurately reflect the content of your website.

If Google changes your meta description, there's nothing you can do about it. Google may choose to rewrite your meta description if it thinks it's not relevant to the user's search query. However, writing a good meta description is still important because it can indirectly impact SEO through click-through rates and user engagement.
