If the link in the author bio is dofollow and relevant then it will definitely pass link juice. So don't worry about that it will be beneficial for your website.

There are patents that specify that the most important part of the page is the first half(super on topic) and end part(diverging to different topics). Ideally, you want your link in one of those two. Author box is at the footer(generally), don't recommend it for link building at scale. Also hard to get the anchors you want.

Try to create profile from a do follow website, this will gives you a better result. No matter where you are getting backlinks. The matter is about the quality of the link.

Check this post of Moz. Its author's bio link specifically to speak.

You can see that the author's name has links to both his Twitter page and his company here. It's a fairly good illustration. You can link your linkedin profile or any other account if you don't have a twitter profile to do so. And another link indicating your business on your website. It could pass a significant amount of link juice.carrymebags
There are numerous instances of effective author's bio links in Moz blogs. You can examine them for yourself to see how they can be enhanced in various ways.
I hope it helps you.
