What does the term "Backlink Citation" mean?

What does the term backlink citation mean? I know what is citation but is so called backlink citation??

Clearly, I have no clue what exactly are you referring to here.

I think getting a link featured in any site may be referred as backlink citation. Because citation means getting noticed they doesn't necessarily mean that they should have a link so there's that.

A citation is an mentions on other websites to your business's name, address and phone number (NAP) and link. 
Google uses them when evaluating the online authority of your business.

In a very simple term, a backlink is when another website links to content on your site via their website. Backlinks are very valuable.

On the other hand, citation is a list of name, address, and phone number(NAP) for your business.
Although you need both to be successful in your listing on Google, backlinks are by far the quickest way to get to the top in my opinion.

I presume obtaining a link featured in any website may be referred to as backlink citation. Because citation signifies becoming detected that they doesn't necessarily mean they need to have a link so there's that.
