Which is more preferable to use in terms of SEO and maintaining the sites?? I have been using wordpress for years and it needs continuous optimization so when I am investing in web 2.0 sites I am thinking about getting something more stable and takes less effort.

SEO wise both are same. And coming to maintenance wordpress is good for all users and Drupal is good for the ones who knows what they are doing.

For newbies I will strongly suggest wordpress. Both scripts needed to be maintained. Atleast with wordpress you will get all the quick support you need.

If you are looking for a newbie friendly option then you also should look into Joomla. Don't confine yourself within those two.

Go for wordpress. It is easy to use. Since they don't have any advantage SEO wise. So, why bother?

Some people will be bothered. Because even if its easy to install and maintain that doesn't mean it is problem free. WP is often attacked by spammers and hackers.
