I didn't know that the SERP fluctuations effects ads. After the September Core updates our campaigns has took a very hard hit. At first CTR were very low then CTR started increasing but the traffic that came was more like a zombie traffic.
Back in the month I got the idea of investing in facebook ads for conversion. But it was a failure too they send bot traffic mostly which didb't converted at all. Any suggestions??

It doesn't get effected. It gets effected by the ripple effects. When some niche takes a hit. Its traffic scatters and that more or less effects every niche's SERP's as well as ad campaigns. And since Google is now hell bent is pleasing their share holders these things will happen often.
Coming to facebook ads. I think that its a horrible idea. Facebook traffic is great for low budget exposure and brand awareness. Otherwise they are not good at anything. In my opinion their traffic more or less acts like world's biggest bot traffic.

Thanks Danni for clearing it. I was also wondering with the same thing. Clearly recent Google updates has created so much mess that its harder to determine what has exactly caused what.

No no!!! not just for the recent updates. It happens merely all the time when any major or so called 'having name' updates happen.
