Guest Posting Opportunity, where to put the link? - theogonzalez - 07-26-2024

I have been asked by a site owner in our niche to publish a guest post in his sites. He will accept one do-follow in the article. So, here is the question where should put the link? Should I put it in the author's bio section? Or, should I find a relevant place in the content and stuff it in with a relevant anchor text. As, I have been doing a lot of reading in this forum. And people are often suggested here that I should make the links more and more relevant.

Anything in the text area. With relevant anchor text will make your day.

Author's bio links are old fashioned these days. And many site's doesn't even pass that much link juice from their Ab sections.

It's easy you can put the link in the upper part of the content or in the Author section.

When utilizing guest posting opportunities, place the link strategically within the content to ensure it appears natural and relevant. Ideally, include it in the author bio or contextually within the article where it adds value to the reader. Avoid over-optimization to maintain credibility and maximize SEO benefits.

When the link is embedded in the content, search engines see it as more organic and relevant, which can pass more link equity to your site.
Readers are more likely to click on a link that fits seamlessly within the context of the article.

It is best to include the link within the content, in a relevant place, using appropriate anchor text. Contextual links are more valuable and natural than those in the author's bio, since Google values links that are related to the content of the article more.

You can place the guest posting opportunity link in several strategic locations: within the article (contextually relevant anchor text), in the author bio, or as a CTA at the end. Additionally, promote it on social media, forums, and outreach emails to attract quality contributors.

In guest posts, place your link naturally within the content, preferably in relevant anchor text or in the author bio section, ensuring it adds value and aligns with the topic contextually.

I’ve looked into this a lot too, and from everything I’ve read (plus my own experience), it’s way better to place the link within the actual content of the guest post rather than in the author bio.
Why? Because when the link is in the middle of the article—contextually placed and relevant to the topic—it looks more natural to both readers and search engines. Google tends to give more SEO value to links that are part of the content, especially if they’re surrounded by related text and use a relevant anchor (not something generic like “click here”).
Links in the author bio, on the other hand, are often seen as promotional and don’t carry as much weight. They’re still useful for branding or personal exposure, but not ideal if you’re looking to get the most SEO benefit.
So yeah, if the site owner is allowing just one do-follow link, I’d definitely use it in the body of the article, in a spot that feels natural and helpful to the reader. That way, you get the most value out of it.
Hope that helps!
